1. Acceptance

By using QuillCV ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. The Service

QuillCV is an AI-powered CV builder that generates ATS-optimized CVs based on your input. We provide tools to tailor your CV to specific job descriptions and country formats.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • One account per person — don't share or transfer accounts

4. Credits and payments

  • CV generations require credits, purchased through our pricing plans
  • Credits never expire
  • All templates are free to use — credits are only for AI-generated CVs
  • Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase if you're not satisfied

5. Your content

  • You retain ownership of all CV content you upload or create
  • You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service
  • We do not use your content to train AI models
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of information in your CV

6. Acceptable use

Don't use QuillCV to:

  • Create fraudulent or misleading CVs
  • Automate or scrape the Service
  • Resell generated CVs as a service
  • Upload content that infringes others' rights

7. AI-generated content

CVs generated by QuillCV are AI-assisted. While we strive for accuracy, you should review all generated content before submitting it to employers. We're not responsible for hiring outcomes.

8. Data protection commitment

We take the security and privacy of your CV content seriously. Our data protection commitments include:

  • Two-layer encryption — Your identity fields (name, address, contact details) are encrypted with a key derived from your password, giving you zero-knowledge protection for the most sensitive parts of your profile. Uploaded files are encrypted at rest using server-managed keys.
  • Zero-knowledge identity fields — Because your PII is encrypted with a user-derived key, we cannot read your raw identity data. This means we also cannot recover these fields if you lose access to your account, so keep your password safe.
  • Placeholder system — When your CV content is sent to AI providers for processing, real PII is replaced with placeholder tokens. Your name, phone number, email, and address are never transmitted to third-party AI APIs in plain text.
  • Temporary file cleanup — Files created during a CV generation session (uploaded source CVs, intermediate outputs) are automatically deleted after 7 days. You can also delete individual CVs and saved profiles at any time from your account.

9. Availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

10. Limitation of liability

QuillCV is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes will be resolved in Australian courts.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll notify account holders of significant changes.
